Dear Nonprofit Partner:

Greater DC Cares, in partnership with the Deloitte Center for Leadership and Community, is pleased to invite you to “Recruit to Retain: Strategies for Developing Lasting Mentor Relationships,” This half-day forum has been especially designed for nonprofit leaders of organizations that use mentoring as an approach to building positive futures for our youth, including preparing them for college and career success.

In consultation with mentoring experts, education leaders, and area nonprofit executives, we have designed the morning to --

·       Build the capacity of nonprofits providing mentoring;

·       Facilitate collaboration among nonprofit leaders; and

·       Increase the numbers & effectiveness of mentors in our community.

During the Forum, we will present findings on common challenges and share best practice solutions.  Sessions will be led and facilitated by experts from Deloitte’s Human Capital and Strategy & Operations practice. Participants will begin using social media tools that will increase collaboration beyond the day’s session.

We strongly encourage you to attend and bring along your organization’s volunteer, or program manager.  The “Recruit to Retain” forum takes place Friday, June 11 from 8:00-11:30 a.m. at the Deloitte Rosslyn offices (1919 North Lynn Street, Arlington, VA 22209). Speakers include Barry Salzberg, CEO, Deloitte LLP, and our distinguished keynote speaker:

Marvin Dickerson, Former President - 100 Black Men of Greater Washington

Please RSVP for yourself, and one other staff member, online by May 12. If you have questions, please contact Danny Hosein at dhosein@greaterdccares.org.

Sincerely,
